     Banjar Buddhist Monastery is situated 7 kilometers south of  the Singaraja - Seririt main road. This is one of tourist destinations in Buleleng which is located in Banjar Tegeha village. to reach this place is not far either from Singaraja, it takes about 40 minutes and 3 hours trip from Denpasar. The monastery situated in the foothills over looking the sea and Brahma Vihara is well known as Buddha Banjar vihara. this vihara is the biggest vihara in Bali. to enter the place is free but, donations are welcome. then, there are some rules that need to be obeyed. one of them is not to wear short pants above the knee. if the tourist is not wearing the proper clothe, the officer of the vihara will provide the visitor clothes that can be borrowed to enter the vihara. Around the vihara you can find groups of people staying in the ashram nearby.
     Brahma Vihara Arama Buddha Banjar was built in the late of 20th century Christian exactly in 1960 and after 1970, it was opened formally in 1973. actually Buddhist temple had been built before located in Banjar Tegeha around the hot spring area of Banjar Village.. but, at that time only few of people adherents Buddha and then, after the Buddhist adherent's were getting more increasing then, this Monastery was finally built on such area of land. the area has been expanded in order to be able to build Borobudur Miniature.


     If we hang around all corners of the rooms we can find many Buddhist statues. there are two beautiful ones such as : Parinirwana and Buddha statue. both are made from bronze coated with gold gifts from Thailand and Sri Lanka in 1977. these statues are placed in different rooms. Buddhist Parinirwana statue visualized Buddha reaching heaven or Hindus term Moksha ( eternity ). other biggest Buddhist statue there are about 31 statues and they are made from sandstone or concrete showing the symbol that there are 31 stages of nature outside heaven. other important holy days at Brahma vihara is Waicak which comes every purnamasidhi ( full moon ) especially In may, once in a year and it is acknowledge to celebrate : The Birth of Buddha in Purnamasiddhi Waisaka puja then, the reaching of heaven by Buddha that is a perfect freedom, and when Buddha reached Parinirwana or ( eternity ). 


     This place is quiet and just renovated. many people spend their time to do meditation, yoga, and refreshing the mind. around the vihara surrounded by beautiful garden and good place to capture your holiday.
