The meaning of Singa Ambara Raja Statue In Singaraja Town

Winged Lion Statue Or Singa Ambara Raja
     The "Singa Ambara Raja" is the symbol of Buleleng Regency. The statue of Singa Ambara Raja is erected at the middle of the crossroad at the front of the office of the Local Government of Buleleng.
The statue is built on a foundation in the shapes of a pentagon symbolizing five principles of Indonesia state philosophy, called "Pancasila". literally in English: Panca means "five" and Sila means "principle", namely :
1. The Principle of Belief the one and only God.
2. The Principle of just and Civilized humanity.
3. The Principle of Unity of Indonesia.
4. The Principle of Sovereignty of the people led by the inner Wisdom of Deliberation amongst Representatives.
5. The Principle of Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia.

    The Winged Lion has two Wings and each wing consists of 17 long feathers symbolizing the date of 17th, the date of the Independence Proclamation of the Republic of Indonesia, August 17, 1945. The Lion is holding a kind of corn, in Balinese called "Jagung Gombal" and consists of 8 leaves symbolizing the month of August, August 17, 1945. the corn consists of 45 grains symbolizing the year 1945, August 17 1945. all of them combined symbolizing the day, the month, and the year of the independence proclamation on of the Republic Of Indonesia, August 17, 1945.
    The motto "Singa Ambara Raja" representing the heroic spirit of the Buleleng people. The winged lion statue is supported by 9 petals of water lily symbolizing 9 sub-district in Buleleng. three elephant fish symbolizing strength, wisdom, and the ability of the Buleleng people. three bright jewels symbolize alertness and preparedness of face all kind of contingencies. the total number of long and short feathers of the wings are 30 symbolizing the date 30th, the date of the Establishment of Singaraja, the capital of Buleleng. 
    The three bones holding the feathers symbolize the month of the Establishment of Singaraja. the fur which covers the body of the lion totalled 1604, symbolizing the year of the establishment of Singaraja. all of them combined representing the day, month, and the year of the birth of Singaraja, March 30, 1604. this statue is becoming a popular landmark of North Bali, Buleleng Regency.
