Beji Temple
     Pura Beji or Beji Temple is located in Sangsit Village and situated 8 kilometres East of Singaraja. The main place of interest in Sangsit Village is Beji Temple, a temple dedicated to the rice god " Dewi Sri ". This Temple belongs to the members of the local irrigation board called " Subak " rice farmers who formed a society with the authority to allocate available water resources for irrigation purposes. Temple like this is always situated in the middle of rice fields. This temple represents an example of the Northem colourful architectural style with a variety of sculptures covering every available space. Located about a half kilometre of the main road on the coast side. Not far away from Beji temple is Dalem temple or " Pura Dalem ", the meaning of the temple of the dead. The walls of the temple are engraved with reliefs depicting stories from Balinese mythology, such as scenes from the story " Bima in heaven ", which tells of the various rewarding and punishments of the soul, in heaven and in hell determined by men's actions while he is alive. Visitors interested in the life philosophy of the Balinese people frequently visit these two temples.
