Maduwe Karang Temple In Kubutambahan District.

 Maduwe Karang Temple
Maduwe Karang Temple is located in Kubutambahan Village and situated 12 kilometres East of Singaraja. The temple here is worth a visit. " Pura Maduwe Karang ", the temple of the owner of the land, worshipped to ensure the success of crops grown on unirrigated land. A flight of stairs lead into a wide, totally empty court, the temple proper. In this court are two small pavilions ( Bales ) reserved for offerings, situated on two sides constructed on a stone base, consisting of three wide platforms strongly reminiscent of a pyramid. This temple lacks essential little shrines of the temples in the south, instead, the pyramid is surmounted by a great Paduraksa, a great gate with a stone throne, a Padmasana, in place of the customary doorway. On each side of the Paduraksa are two God houses with roofs of sugar palm fibre. There is further a great split gate namely " Candi Bentar ", but instead of serving as the outer entrance to the temple, it is built over the second platform on the pyramid directly in front of the central monument.

The uniqueness Of Maduwe Karang Temple In Kubutambahan is the official riding a bicycle with flower wheels in the base relief on the temple wall. There is one thing that makes this coral honey with temple interesting to visit, namely the existence of reliefs that are very unique and interesting. One of the very popular reliefs is the relief of people who are riding a mountain bike with a lotus flower wheel. It is said that the person who rides a bicycle in relief is W. O. J Nieuwenkamp, a famous Dutch painter at that time who travelled around Bali on a bicycle in the early 1900s. Nieuwenkamp always described the places he had visited. However, due to an earthquake disaster in the past, the relief of this cycling person was damaged and re-improved by the local government.
