     Besakih Temple is located on the slopes of  Mount Agung. And It takes about 2 hours trip from Denpasar as the capital of Bali Province. Besakih Temple is considered as the oldest and largest and the most sacred of all temples in Bali. It is also known as the mother temple of Bali. Besakih Temple was built in the eleventh century by a certain saint, Empu Markandia and the temples connected with Hindu's Trinity. It means that the southern part is represented in red for Brahma. The central part is represented in white for Siwa, and the Northern part is represented in black for Wisnu.

     
     Besakih Temple is the most important and holiest temple of Hindu's Religion in Bali. Perched nearly 1000 meters up the side of  Mount Agung and 3000 feet. Besakih Temple has owns a beautiful view from the top of the temple area where we can see the wide nature panorama until to the ocean. This temple has been developed over more than a thousand-year into a great complex of 22 separate temples, the largest and central being of Pura Penataran Agung. The annual cycle of more than 70 rituals, which symbolically link the temples into a whole, culminates in the centenary ceremony called Eka Dasa Rudra, Last held in 1979. The temple complex, state-supported since the 15th century, has undergone a series of architectural and ritual changes.
